Leaders Prayer
The weekly leaders prayer gathering is held from 8-9am every Wednesday morning throughout the year in the West End at Greyfriars Church, Friar Street, Reading. This prayer has continued weekly since its inception following Ed Silvoso's visit in 1997.
People attending the leaders prayer are leaders of churches or Christian organisations from Reading and the surrounding areas. This includes senior leaders and members of leadership teams from churches and those who are encouraged to attend by a member of their church leadership team. Similarly, leaders and directors of organisations and charities may invite people from their leadership teams to attend. We ask that everyone attending is part of a local church and can commit to our vision of the transformation of Reading through the life, love and power of Jesus Christ.
We aim to give most of our time to praying for, and blessing key areas of community life and we are relationally inclusive to all denominations and streams who profess Jesus as Lord and Saviour. We will usually spend some time in worship and thanksgiving, share stories of what God is doing and occasionally welcome guests who are influencers in our community so we can hear their vision and pray for them.
The weekly prayer gathering is a catalyst that enables leaders to find one another and to build relationships that help sustain real unity. Leaders can be real and honest as they meet together for a coffee after prayer and we are increasingly discovering our need for one another. There is a real sense of honour and appreciation growing and we are excited to becoming more and more fertile ground for God's blessing to flow through.

Sowing seeds in the Forbury Gardens, Reading
During summer 2013 the weekly leaders prayer group met together in the Forbury Gardens in Reading to pray God's blessing on the town and to bury some scriptures in the ground. This prophetic act came about as a result of similar acts enabled by Sue Kirby, a member of the Network Vineyard Church. Sue had been travelling in the UK and overseas in obedience to God's leading - planting seeds from God's word. See below for a slide show of the Reading seed planting.
